The process design of forging hydraulic press is based on the hydraulic schematic diagram, and is arranged and combined into different hydraulic action sequence tables by various single steps. A common forging forming process typically consists of all of the following individual actions, with typical "semi-automatic" or "fully automatic" cycles performed in sequence.

Forging forming process and main action function:

Stationary → slider acceleration → rapid impulse (forging billet early deformation or sheet blanking→), deceleration (or sheet punching buffer) → slow work to apply pressure (forging billet filling or sheet drawing), → pause→ delay pressure holding (forming, no-load operation or immediate reverse return) → reverse acceleration return → deceleration→ slider stop→ hydraulic pad or ejector cylinder jacking (reverse drawing or workpiece demoulding), → pause → hydraulic pad (or ejection cylinder) to return→ hydraulic pad (or ejection cylinder) stop.
